On Sunday, May 21, 2017, the Eye Institute "Jed-Eyes" will participate in the 9th annual Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) Wisconsin VisionWalk on Milwaukee's Lakefront. Proceeds from the VisionWalk support research into preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Stargardt disease and other retinal degenerative diseases.
Thomas B. Connor, Jr., MD, Professor of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, will represent the Eye Institute by serving as the walk’s medical chair.
“First, it’s a great way to support an organization that supports us at the Eye Institute, and it’s a super chance for education and awareness — where patients and their families can meet researchers and Eye Institute folks and their families,” he says. “It’s also just a fun family-friendly event, and I can bring my dogs!”
