Current Research Interests
I am currently working on assessing the ability of adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscope (AOSLO) to investigate macular photoreceptor structure in patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and Usher's syndrome and to detect the correlation between the photoreceptor structure and the visual function.
Undergraduate: M.B.,B.ch. South Valley University, Egypt
Graduate: Master and MD degrees in ophthalmology, Sohag University, Egypt
brief biographical information
I grew up in Sohag, Egypt and I was interested in biology since the primary school. After I had my Bachelor of medicine and surgery in 2002 (the first, grade excellent with honors) I decided to practice ophthalmology and applied for residency in 2004. After I had my master and MD degrees in ophthalmology I decided to start my postdoctoral research outside Egypt and I knew that MCW was an optimal place for research especially in the field of adaptive optics.
