My role in the AOIP
My role is to support the AOIP and Ophthalmology Research Department by performing protocol-specific testing and providing data collection support for multiple clinical trials. I am interested in further advancements with Macular Degeneration.
Brief Biographical Information
I have been in the eye industry for 7 years and can’t imagine doing anything else. I started at Lenscrafters and saw a small portion of what the health care side of it looked like and wanted to explore that more. I worked for a couple years at private practices that led me into Ophthalmology. I had the opportunity to live in Chicago for 2 years and worked in the Optical field. I moved back to WI October 2016. I worked in Ophthalmology when I moved back and had the opportunity to take this position in research and am very excited to see where this can take me.
The main reason I moved back to WI is to be closer to family. I have 3 adoptive siblings from Ethiopia and a biological brother that I try to spend as much time with as possible. I am a big cat lover and just adopted a cat named Lunar. In my spare time I enjoy being outside playing tennis, golf, and running/walks.
