Brief Biographical Information

I was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and throughout my schooling was always fond of math and science. Building on those interests I attended Carroll College where I got a BS in Research Psychology and then chose to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience at MCW under the guidance of Dr. Jay Neitz. Studying the mechanisms that underlie the human color vision system gave me great appreciation for the complexity of the eye and upon graduating I completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Advanced Ocular Imaging Program. Subsequently, I went on to teach Psychology at the college level before I returned to the Eye Institute to assume my current role as Director of Development.

My favorite structure in the eye

Although I find the cells in the retina most interesting, I'd have to say my favorite structure is the iris because of its beauty.
