My Role in the AOIP

We are currently developing better image registration software where we hope to make better use of images by creating larger fields of view and automating our process in order to reduce user input and time.
Additionally, we are working on real time eye motion tracking software for scanning ophthalmoscopes. By compensating for eye motion during image acquisition we can reduce imaging time and the subject’s exposure to light. I assist in development and maintenance of image acquisition, control, and image processing software for retinal imaging instruments equipped with adaptive optics. I spend my time programming in C / C++, Python, and MATLAB.

Education

Brief Biographical Information

I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in a dual BS / MS degree program in the Computer Engineering department in 2011, where I worked under Dr. Alfredo Dubra developing eye tracking software for adaptive optics scanning ophthalmoscopes. During a brief hiatus from the lab after graduating college, I worked for a company called QED Technologies in Rochester NY developing precision optical polishing systems. I rejoined Dr. Dubra’s group in August of 2012.
