Brief Biographical Information

Growing up, I have always been fascinated by the eye. Being a son of an ophthalmologist provided unique opportunities of being exposed to the visual system from an early age. Childhood memories include playing with the model eye that my dad had around the house and holding the jar of intraocular lenses that was placed on his desk. My desire to become a physician began as I was able to see how eye care can drastically improve people's quality of life. Medical school and a better understanding of the ocular system have deepened my interest and appreciation for the gift of sight. The basic science, along with the rewards of clinical practice, continue to motivate me to pursue a career in ophthalmology.
