The Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin endowment funds research projects in which MCW physicians and scientists work to improve the health of the people of Wisconsin through scientific advances. Projects also often involve collaborations with experts at other local, regional, national and international academic institutions.
The AHW endowment believes these efforts will lead to an increased understanding of disease, and eventually to new methods for detecting and treating illness.
In addition to biomedical and population health research, the AHW endowment supports projects that enhance the education of public health workers, students, health care providers and patients. Through this support, the AHW endowment works to address the professional development needs of public health and health workers in Wisconsin.
