About the Allergy-Clinical Immunology Fellowship Program

The goal of the fellowship program in Allergy and Immunology (A&I) is to train future academicians/leaders in the field of A&I and accepts physicians with backgrounds in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics in the field of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

This program is a joint effort of the Department of Medicine and Pediatrics. As the allergy/immunology service for the Medical College of Wisconsin, we service Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and Veterans Administration Medical Center. A central clinic where all outpatients are seen is located in the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Clinics Building on the medical center campus.

Application Process

Allergy and Clinical Immunology (A&I) is a conjoint board, so we accept physicians who have completed either Internal Medicine or Pediatric residency programs. A&I fellows are required to be board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Pediatrics to sit for the A&I board examination.

We receive approximately 90 requests for applications for our 2 fellowship positions annually.  The training program is 36 months in length, and we will begin downloading applications for 2015 positions July 15, 2014.

We participate in the ERAS system for processing applications, and the NRMP match program. The ERAS website ( and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology website ( have more specific details as well.
