In addition to George M. Lange, MD ’75, who recently became President of the Wisconsin Medical Society, a number of other alumni, faculty members and a student of The Medical College of Wisconsin were elected to leadership positions within the Society this year.
Tosha B. Wetterneck, MD ’95, MS, was elected President-elect of the Society. She is a general internist and hospitalist at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison and an Associate Professor at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Wetterneck has served on the Society’s Board of Directors since 2005 and previously was on its Policy Panel, Membership Committee, Nominating Committee, Professionalism Task Force and Health Care Reform Task Force.
Andrew Beykovsky, MD, GME ’06, was elected to his first three-year term on the Board of Directors. He is a neurosurgeon at Neurologic Associates in Waukesha.
Kesavan Kutty, MD, Fel ’79, was re-elected to his third three-year term on the Board of Directors. Dr. Kutty specializes in pulmonary diseases, sleep disorders and internal medicine at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and is Professor of Medicine at The Medical College of Wisconsin.
Philip Redlich, MD, PhD ’89, was re-elected to a one-year term as the Board’s Medical Schools Section representative. Dr. Redlich is Associate Dean for Curriculum and the Gerald L. Schmitz Professor of Surgery at The Medical College of Wisconsin.
Kenneth B. Simons, MD, was elected to his first full three-year term on the Board of Directors. He is Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Accreditation, Executive Director of The Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals and Professor of Ophthalmology and Pathology at the Medical College.
Senthil Rathinavelu, Class of 2013, was elected to a one-year term, representing the Medical Student Section. Rathinavelu is a student at The Medical College of Wisconsin.
