Past Chairman of the Board welcomed as Honorary Alumnus

A pillar in the community, Edward J. Zore has been a pillar at the Medical College of Wisconsin for more than 12 years. For his service, the Alumni Association named him a 2014 Honorary Alumnus.

Zore retired as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Northwestern Mutual in 2010, a company he joined in 1969. At the Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual, he held a number of progressive leadership roles, including President and CEO. He continues to serve on its Board of Trustees.

From 2010-12, Zore was Chairman of the MCW Board of Trustees, on which he has served without interruption since 2002. He was an integral part of the search committees that resulted in the hire of MCW’s current President and CEO, John R. Raymond, Sr., MD, and current Dean of the Medical School and Executive Vice President, Joseph E. Kerschner, MD ’90, Fel ’98.

In his industry and the community, Zore’s involvement has been vast and includes the Greater Milwaukee Committee, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, United Way of Greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, Manpower, Inc., Renaissance Re Holdings Ltd., Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, United Performing Arts Fund, YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, The American Council of Life Insurers and the Financial Services Roundtable.

Zore earned his BS and MS degrees in economics from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
