The Department of Anesthesiology accepts applications via the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).

The following documents should accompany the ERAS application:

  • Personal Statement
  • Dean's Letter
  • Transcript
  • Three additional letters of recommendation from US clinical attendings
  • USMLE Scores

Graduation from medical school within the last 3 years is preferred. At least one letter of recommendation by an Anesthesiologist is required and two are preferred.

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

  • ECFMG Certificate
  • Graduation from medical school within the last 3 years
  • 240 or better USMLE steps I & II within first attempt
  • Visas H-1 sponsorship may be available for outstanding candidates

International applicants must be certified prior to any interview. US clinical experience is preferred (observerships do not meet this requirement). Successful completion of USMLE step III is required before entering clinical training.
