Site preparations have begun for the next MCW campus building, an expansion of the existing MRI addition south of the MACC Fund Research Center. This latest addition will house a 7T (7 Tesla) MRI machine. This MRI will be the first of its kind for GE (an active-shielded 7T MRI). During the last few days, preparations for excavation have occurred, including the erection of a fence to mark the construction site and a silt fence to contain soil and materials runoff. The construction will span from October 2011 through September of 2012 with the following planned phases:
