On Target For A Cure

Saturday, June 6, 2015

The On Target For A Cure trap shooting event, sponsored by the Southeastern Rod and Gun Club, will be held on Saturday, June 6, at the Southeastern Rod and Gun Club in East Troy.

This event is held in memory of Walter Pladies, who called for his final bird in February 2008 after a long battle with cancer.

Event details:

  • Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
  • Team shooting from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m.

Registration details:

  • Each five-person team will shoot two (2) rounds of American Trap (fifty targets at 16 yards, one shot per target)
  • $250 donation ($50/person), not including shells (shells will be available for an additional donation at the venue)
  • All participants receive an event shirt and lunch
  • White birds will be randomly added in to team shooting; each broken white bird will result in one raffle ticket for a chance to win a gun

Other events throughout the day include gun and meat raffles, a silent auction and door prize tickets for everyone in attendance.

Proceeds from the event support cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. Last year, the Club donated nearly $9,500 to MCW from this event.
