Assistant Professor of Bioethics and Medical Humanities

Kellie R. Lang is Assistant Professor of Bioethics & Medical Humanities and Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is co-chair of the Ethics Advisory Committee at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin where she also serves as a clinical ethics consultation team leader and pediatric nursing ethics consultant. Kellie’s academic and research interests include: the role of law in pediatric health policy; the effect of institutional racism and implicit bias on children’s health; clinical ethics consultation; organizational ethics; and ethics education, particularly for nurses. She has been a speaker on these topics at regional and national ethics conferences. She is the author of “Gavels in the Nursery,” a law review article in the Annals of Health Law on the implications of Montalvo, a Wisconsin pediatric ethics case.

Kellie began her pediatric nursing career at Boston Children’s Hospital and after practicing in Wisconsin, earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School. She served as a Director-at-Large for the American Society for Bioethics & Medical Humanities (ASBH) Board of Directors (2013-2016). Kellie is currently a Fellow at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago (2016-2017); her fellowship concentration is in pediatric ethics.
