Degree - B.S. in Molecular Biology
Joined MCW in July, 2001
What brought you to MCW? After graduating from UW-Madison, I came to work in Dr. Long's lab, studying RNA localization in yeast. I worked in the Long lab until June of 2009 when I transferred to Dr. Kristich's lab.
What are you working on now? I work in Dr. Kristich's lab studying antibiotic resistance of bacteria, mainly E. faecalis. Most of my projects entail a lot of cloning and antibiotic susceptibility testing; beyond that I also take care of ordering and keeping stocks up for the lab.
Favorite thing about your position? I enjoy working with the people in my lab, and being able to work on new and interesting things on a daily basis.
Hobbies and outside of work interests? I like to mountain bike, road bike, and go hiking and camping with my husband and our yellow lab Haley.
Interesting "Fun Fact"? I am one of 25 people in my extended family (mainly my dad's side) that have a name beginning with the letter "J"!
