Mark is currently studying a serine protease involved in the stress adaptations of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. He will be defending to earn his Ph.D. in mid November. Mark's favorite thing about his experience at MCW is the opportunity to work in the BSL3 laboratory. He also likes the diverse technologies available to him, which have helped him with his project.
Mark's Outside Interests: Collecting movies, eating Mexican food and Red Robin burgers, fishing, and watching the 49ers play football.
Fun fact about Mark: Mark was five years active duty in the Army on the bomb squad! He served in Washington D.C. and Kosovo.
