Meet Dr. Toohill

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Toohill is the former Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences. Colleagues laud his clinical skills, leadership within his specialty, and work in building a department with a national reputation.

His energy and dedication in teaching has shaped the field of otolaryngology by influencing the many residents who have studied under him.

His research emphasis include sinus disease, reconstructive techniques for the larynx and upper trachea, and diagnosis and treatment for extraesophageal manifestations of gastroesophageal reflux.

His expertise is sought with frequent invitations as a visiting professor at medical schools around the U.S. and scientific speaker at national medical society meetings. He has received an Honor Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Toohill was vice president of the Middle Section of the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society, and hosted the society's 1999 regional meeting in Milwaukee. Dr. Toohill is also the past president of the Wisconsin Otolaryngological Society as well as the Medical College of Wisconsin/Marquette Medical Alumni Association.
