Rhinoplasty

What is a Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty or "nose job" is one of the most common, yet extremely complicated facial plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Rhee is a highly skilled surgeon with a delicate hand in performing cosmetic rhinoplasty as well as revision rhinoplasty.  This is a one to two hour outpatient procedure that is performed to reshape the nose by reducing or increasing the size, changing the shape of the tip or bridge, narrowing the width of the nostrils, or changing the angle between the nose and upper lip.

Often times the external appearance of the nose is intimately linked with the internal anatomy.  A twisted or crooked nose is often associated with a deviated septum.  Rhinoplasty, along with septoplasty, corrective surgical procedure done to straighten the nasal septum, can be performed at the same time.  In fact, surgery to repair the internal and external deformities is often needed for optimal results.

What does recovery entail?

In general, time for recovery after Rhinoplasty is one to two weeks.  Most patients are feeling quite good by one week and can resume work or other daily activities.  In most cases, there is no need for nasal packing.
