The Small Animal Echocardiography Core provides an imaging resource to support cardiovascular phenotyping efforts. The Core staff offers expertise, materials, training, consultation, access to equipment and performs scanning and analysis on a fee for service basis. About the Core


The Animal Echo Core consists of GE Vivid 7 with EchoPAC software for 2D, M-mode, strain, and volume of blood flow. We are able to perform small animal echocardiograms in our echo laboratory, the animal facility or the Study Investigator’s laboratory. The Core is under the direction of Timothy Woods, MD and Jennifer Strande, MD, PhD. The Core Technical Director and Sonographer is Leanne Harmann BA, RDCS, RDMS, RVT, who has over 25 years of clinical ultrasound experience with over 6 years devoted to research scanning of mice, rats, rabbits, pigs and primates.
