Base Group Plan
This policy provides 80% of your base stipend to a maximum monthly benefit of $5,000. Benefits start 60 days after the onset of a disability and can continue to age 65. Disability is defined as: unable to perform with reasonable continuity the Material Duties of your Own Occupation. This policy can be converted upon leaving MCWAH without providing evidence of good health. This is group coverage and is underwritten by Standard Insurance. Voluntary Supplemental Individual Plan
Housestaff members are also eligible for a voluntary, supplemental, individual disability policy. The policy is an Own Occupation/Specialty coverage for the full benefit period. Premiums are guaranteed and substantially discounted. This policy is portable and may be continued and increased upon graduation and after.
