Both Marquette University and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee have accredited graduate programs in the natural sciences, which lead to the MS and PhD degrees. Reciprocal arrangements exist between the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the graduate schools of these two universities. These arrangements permit graduate students at each institution to take courses at the other institutions provided that the course is not offered at the school in which the student is registered. The student must be admitted/enrolled full time Students on Medical College of Wisconsin campusin a degree-seeking program. Under this arrangement, the student does not pay additional tuition for taking courses at the other institutions. Some restrictions apply. See “Steps to Register for Medical College Courses” under “Joint Degree Programs.”

Students admitted to the Master of Science Medical Informatics Program, a joint degree between MSOE and MCW, may take courses on either campus to satisfy the degree requirements.

The Medical College collaborates with the Blood Research Institute and with many hospitals in the greater Milwaukee area including Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. The basic science departments have close research ties with many clinical departments at the College and with research laboratories of several pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
