Dr. Willis Receives Milwaukee TEMPO Award

Tempo Milwaukee awarded Earnestine Willis, MD, MPH, a 2012 Mentor award. The event was held on February 16, 2012. Dr. Willis was bestowed with the honor based on her extraordinary commitment to helping others achieve personal and professional goals. TEMPO Milwaukee is an organization for professional women and leaders. The TEMPO Mentor Award is one of the most well-regarded awards granted by a professional women's organization in Milwaukee. The other one is the Sacagawea Award from Professional Dimensions; Dr. Willis received that award in 2008.

The event announcement noted the following regarding Dr. Willis, "She has over three decades of experience in addressing health disparities through the development of successful community initiatives such as the national model known as Community Pediatric Training Initiative, now anchored in the American Academy of Pediatrics; Reach Out and Read-Milwaukee as a site of a National Program to promote early literacy. Among her many professional activities, she has a long standing track record of advocating for children by serving on many boards and has taken on various leadership positions at the local, state and federal levels."
