The Health Equity and Urban Clinical Care Partnerships Division received some guidance from Stephen B. Thomas, PhD, FAAHB during his visit to MCW on October 20, 2011. Dr. Thomas is a Professor and the Director of the University of Maryland’s Center for Health Equity and he is one of the nation’s leading scholars in the effort to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities. Dr. Thomas provided a presentation for the 2011 Diversity Research Forum titled, “Legacy of the Syphilis Study Done at Tuskegee: Engaging Racial & Ethnic Minority Populations in Clinical and Public Health Research."
