Clarene Mitchell, BA

Program Manager

 

As the Program Manager for the Health Equity and Urban Clinical Care Partnerships Division, Clarene is responsible for advancing the mission of health equity internally within MCW and in the broader community, with the goal of eliminating health disparities for underserved populations. This is accomplished in part through her managing of the eHealth Equity Alert System, supporting Dr. Willis in the development of presentations and grants, managing the Division’s portfolio of grants, providing leadership on various committees, and managing the daily administrative activity of the Division.  Her employment history has included working for Milwaukee Health Services, Inc., Black Health Coalition of Wisconsin, Inc., City of Milwaukee Health Department, City of Milwaukee - Office of Mayor Norquist, Sojourner Truth House, Inc., and the Milwaukee Urban League.

Mrs. Mitchell is an accomplished health and public relations professional who has more than 20 years of experience. She has tirelessly worked to advance issues pertaining to racial health disparities and is respected in the community for her passion, energy and commitment to improving community health. Her professional expertise includes community-level project development and management, advocacy and communications. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Interpersonal Communications) from Cardinal Stritch, 1993.
