Sheldon and Marianne Lubar have worked continually to improve the quality of life in Milwaukee and beyond. Their contributions to education, health care and the arts have lifted the community and also benefitted The Medical College of Wisconsin.
A Wisconsin native, Mr. Lubar is the founder and Chairman of Lubar & Co., a private investment and capital management firm based in Milwaukee. A former Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Lubar has served on the boards of numerous non-profit and for-profit organizations. He has been President of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents, Chairman of the Milwaukee Art Museum, was instrumental in the planning and construction of the Midwest Airlines Convention Center and co-founded the Wisconsin Public Policy Research Institute, a Milwaukee-based think tank.
In a long career of public service, Mrs. Lubar has served on the boards of the Milwaukee Art Museum, Children’s Outing Association, Florentine Opera Company, Next Act Theater and the Milwaukee Jewish Historical Society.
In 2007, the Lubar family established the Sheldon and Marianne Lubar Endowed Scholarship Fund at the Medical College, where Sheldon has been a trustee since 1999. The Lubar family also established the Jeffrey C. Siegel Quality of Life Center at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center.
