National Library Week & Earth Day On Display at the Todd Wehr Library

April 15, 2014 - In addition to spring showers (and apparently snow), April is a month full of celebrations. The display cases at the Todd Wehr Library are highlighting just a couple of these - stop by and see them before May's displays come into bloom.

April 2014 North Display - National Library Week

North Display - National Library Week

The MCW Libraries celebrates National Library Week (April 13-19) with a display on the Libraries' support of the College’s core missions of Education, Research, Patient Care, and Community Engagement. Some examples of the Libraries support include individual instruction and classes on library resources, help with NIH Public Access compliance, providing information for patient care at regularly scheduled clinical meetings, and exhibiting at Senior Center Resource Fairs. The official theme of National Library Week across the country is "Lives Change @ Your Library" - please let us know how we can continue to help change yours for the better!

Inside Display - Earth DayApril 2014 Inside Display - Earth Day

Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22nd, 1970 in the United States.  Now in its 44th year, Earth Day has grown into an international event celebrated around the world.  As the health of the Earth and the health of its human citizens are intimately related, the MCW Libraries are currently displaying facts about Earth Day (did you know it was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin?), sharing some Earth-friendly tips that are also good for you, and highlighting just some of the environmental health resources that can be found in our print and electronic collections.  For more information on Earth Day, visit and stop by the display!

Library books in our displays are available to check out. Please contact us at or (414) 955-8302 if you would like help finding related information, help with checking out something in the display, or if you have any questions.
