8th International Symposium on Memory and Awareness in Anesthesia


June 2-5, 2011 - Milwaukee, WI


This symposium will bring together clinical and research anesthesiologists, cognitive and clinical psychologists, neuroscientists, psychiatrists, nurses and other interested professionals from all over the world.

Conference Topics


Select topics for 2011 will include but are not limited to:

  • Scientific theories of unconsciousness and amnesia
  • Comparison of CNS function during anesthesia, coma and sleep
  • Quantitative EEG, electromyography for awareness and memory
  • Monitoring technologies including the BIS, Patient State Index, Entropy, SNAP, Narcotrend and Auditory Evoked Potential Index
  • Contributions of surgery, trauma, and chronic pain to postoperative memory
  • Disturbed awareness, delirium and postoperative cognitive dysfunction
