MCW researchers mentor Wauwatosa STEM students for science fair
MCW scientists are still working hard on science fair projects even after graduating from elementary school more than a decade ago.
Over the last four months, researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin have served as mentors and guides for Wauwatosa STEM fourth and fifth grade students’ science fair projects. Each participating student was paired with a scientific mentor to help guide her or his project from the conceptual stage all the way through to the final presentation.
The scientists met with their students routinely to provide continuous feedback on ideas for topics, assist with writing, aid in interpreting and presenting the data they obtained, and provide guidance on presentation skills.
