HWPP releases request for proposals

Feb 13 - The Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (HWPP) recently released its 9th funding cycle request for proposal (RFP). As in prior funding cycles, HWPP will continue to support Development and Impact projects that address health improvement through community - MCW academic partnerships.

Registration open for HWPP educational workshop

Jan. 29 - Registration is now open for the next Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program (HWPP) educational opportunity, entitled, Community & Academic Partnerships: Learning from the Past, Focusing on the Future, to be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee West in Wauwatosa.

Survey solicits input on Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin’s future funding priorities

Jan. 09 - The Medical College of Wisconsin invites faculty, staff, students, community stakeholders and the broader public to provide suggestions and input on the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin (AHW) 2014-2018 Five-Year Plan. The online public input survey takes approximately five minutes to complete and can be accessed through AHW’s Five-Year Plan Web page.

Joint conference shares work of Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin, Wisconsin Partnership Program

Oct. 24 - Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin (AHW) and the Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP) presented their first joint conference, “Leading the Way,” on Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Italian Community Center. More than 300 attendees and presenters celebrated the accomplishments and shared lessons learned by past and currently funded projects from the endowment programs at both the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Conference looks at strategies to improve health of Wisconsin

Sept. 18 - The Medical College of Wisconsin’s (MCW) Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Program (AHW) and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health’s Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP) will sponsor an inaugural joint conference to highlight initiatives aimed at dealing with Wisconsin’s most challenging public health issues.

Six teams selected to participate in the Healthy Wisconsin Leadership Institute

Sept. 17 - Six teams from across Wisconsin were selected to participate in a year-long leadership training program that will help prepare them to address their communities’ most pressing health concerns.

Database for children with special health care needs gives details to emergency responders

Sept 13 - A coalition of parents, emergency responders, community partners and hospitals has launched the Patient at Risk secure online database. Patient at Risk gives emergency responders specific, individualized instructions for children and youth with special health care needs. The program has been piloted in Milwaukee at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Baraboo, Waukesha and West Allis, and is being rolled out statewide. Congratulations to the Class of 2012

The 99th annual commencement took place on May 18 at the Milwaukee Theatre, at which the Medical College of Wisconsin and its Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences awarded 202 MD, 38 PhD, 27 MS, 4 MA, and 18 Master of Public Health degrees, as well as bestowed numerous honors.
