Shaker, MD, professor of clinical medicine (endocrinology, metabolism and clinical nutrition) and senior medical director for ambulatory services, has been named Clinician of the Year by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry at the society’s annual meeting in Chicago. John A Scocos, Cabinet Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veteran’s Affairs, visited the Medical College of Wisconsin on Friday, March 13, to honor Harry T. Whelan, MD, for receiving the prestigious Legion of Merit award from the United States Armed Forces. The presentation, held in the MCW Alumni Center, was a surprise for Dr. Whelan.
