Matthew Bohr and Melanie Mercer, M1 students, win national geriatrics-research grant

Apr. 17 - Matthew Bohr and Melanie Mercer, first-year MCW medical students, have been selected to receive national Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) grants from the American Federation for Aging Research to perform summer research in geriatrics.

The Wisconsin Update in Geriatric Medicine and Board Review Course will be held Sept. 17-20 at Lake Lawn Resort in Delevan.

Fall prevention interventions prove effective in reducing injury

Mar. 9 - Implementing evidence-based fall prevention programs in Wisconsin communities reduces the number of emergency room visits and hospitalizations due to falls in individuals aged 65 and older, but utilizing enhanced community support for implementing those programs produces no additional benefit.

Need for more geriatricians in medicine

Medical students to take on MU dental students July 12 in annual softball game

June 19 - Medical College of Wisconsin medical students will compete against dental students from the Marquette University School of Dentistry at the eighth annual "Thriller at Miller" on Saturday, July 12. The game will be played at Helfaer Field, adjacent to Miller Park, beginning at 12:10 p.m.
