6th annual Global Health Fair planned for Feb. 27

Feb. 21 - On Thursday, Feb. 27, , the Medical College of Wisconsin medical students' Global Health Organization and Academic Affairs' Global Health Pathway will co-host the 6th annual Global Health Fair. The theme of this year's fair, which runs from 12:30-4:15 p.m., is Medicine in Conflict Zones (PDF).

Humanitarian makes world of difference

Throughout her career as an OB/GYN and fertility expert, Dr. Gloria Halverson has offered her services to the most vulnerable populations in the world. In retirement, she has increased her efforts as her missionary work seeks to help victims of human trafficking and extreme poverty. The 2013 alumni Humanitarian Award is hers.

Neurosurgeon leads with innovation

Dr. Philip Stieg has led the Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College for 13 years, and he hasn’t wasted a moment of it. His pursuit of innovation in the operating room, in the laboratory, in the academic halls and in developing nations contributed to his selection as the 2013 Medical School Alumnus of the Year.

Congratulations to the Class of 2012

The 99th annual commencement took place on May 18 at the Milwaukee Theatre, at which the Medical College of Wisconsin and its Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences awarded 202 MD, 38 PhD, 27 MS, 4 MA, and 18 Master of Public Health degrees, as well as bestowed numerous honors.
