Magazine Names Children’s as 2015 Lab of the Year

Drs. See and Wang Discuss Value of Liquid Biopsies

Mar. 2 - Dr. William See (Urology) and Dr. Liang Wang (Pathology) provide expert comment to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article on liquid biopsies. Dr. Wang has been researching two different methods of liquid biopsy, one using DNA circulating in the bloodstream, the other using RNA embedded in vesicles, tiny membranes released by cells. Oct. 13 - A collaborative team of researchers from BloodCenter of Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) has received a one-year, $50,000 grant from the Clinical and Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (CTSI) to study the effects of platelet transfusion on newborns whose medical conditions require the procedure.

Oct. 8 - Jerome Gottschall, MD, Professor of Pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), Senior Medical Director at the BloodCenter of Wisconsin and Medical Director of Transfusion Services at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Froedtert Hospital, received a lifetime achievement award from the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
