    Purpose

The Learning Resource Fund, administered by MCW's Curriculum & Evaluation Committee, provides funding to MCW faculty. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to encourage major innovations in undergraduate medical education at the Medical College of Wisconsin as well as promote submissions of proposals for ongoing CEC priorities.

Consistent with the CEC's strategic plan, preference will be given to proposals that address one or more of the following areas:

    1. Basic science and clinical curriculum integration

    2. Uses of technology

    3. Performance-based assessment

    Ongoing Priorities

In addition to this RFP, the Learning Resource Fund also seeks to fund proposals that focus on one or more of the CEC's ongoing priority areas that include:

    1. Implementation of educational and curriculum changes consistent with LCME guidelines, directions from the Curriculum and Evaluation Committee, and from task forces and committees on curriculum and evaluation (e.g., introduction of courses/curriculum that are under-addressed at MCW)
    2. Implementation of strategic planning approaches for curriculum and/or evaluation. More specifically, projects that identify areas requiring major curriculum changes, approaches to defining the curriculum, and methods of evaluation
    3. Pilot research projects in medical education that either create new information or substantially re-interpret old information in a way that makes a difference in the teaching or learning process
    4. Mini-sabbatical leaves in medical education for faculty in either the clinician educator or the tenure tract
    5. Development of methods which would reward teaching

All full-time MCW faculty members are eligible for funding. Applications available upon request from Judi Rehm, Office of Educational Services (955-4353; jrehm@mcw.edu)
