Siddhartha Singh, MD, MS

Associate Professor, Medicine (General Internal Medicine)

"As a general internist, I care for patients once they are hospitalized -- either as their admitting physician or in a consulting role for their medical problems. In addition to treating their disease, I try to help patients navigate the complex and hectic hospital environment, sort through the uncertainty of modern medicine and cope with the stress of an acute illness.

My clinical work forms the foundation for my research interests. I am interested in developing and studying ways of delivering high quality and efficient inpatient care. I am also interested in studying communication between providers and between providers and patients in the inpatient setting. I have an interest in patient safety, transitions in care and discontinuity within the hospital setting.

I also work for the Department of Clinical Affairs to develop clinical programs that are patient-centered, meaningful and durable, and to evaluate them to ensure that they keep pace with the rapidly evolving medical environment."
