As an attending in both Rheumatology and Immune Deficiency, I have a particular interest in genetic mutations leading to immune deficiency or immune dysregulation, including diseases such as hereditary fever syndromes (NOMID, IL-1 receptor antagonist deficiency), immune dysregulation syndromes, (IPEX, CD25 deficiency, systemic onset Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis), and immune deficiencies (SCID). I am a clinical consultant for the first Statewide Newborn Screening program for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency. In addition, I also run the Clinical Immunology Research Laboratory, a laboratory that specializes in the use of flow cytometry in the evaluation of the human immune system. My research laboratory specializes in modeling human disease with murine models, focusing on the function of T regulatory cells.
