Sleep Center

The Sleep Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is the only multidisciplinary sleep disorders center in Wisconsin dedicated exclusively to children. The Sleep Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is a state-of-the art facility, with board-certified sleep specialists who diagnose and treat children of all ages with respiratory, non-respiratory or behavioral sleep disorders. Most children first visit the Pediatric Sleep Disorders Clinic for evaluation. Some children require only behavioral intervention. A four-bed, state-of-the-art sleep laboratory, accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, is available for children requiring more extensive evaluation.

Diagnoses/conditions treated:

  • Snoring
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Nocturnal hypoventilation
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Narcolepsy
  • Insomnia of childhood
  • Insomnia of adolescence
  • Parasomnias, including nightmares, night terrors, sleepwalking
  • Rhythmic movement disorder (e.g., headbanging)
  • All other sleep disorders

Outpatient and inpatient services include:

  • Initial consultation with follow-up care
  • Overnight sleep studies
  • Multiple sleep latency test
  • Actigraphy monitoring
  • Sleep studies in conjunction with EEG/seizure monitoring or esophageal pH monitoring
  • CPAP/BiPAP titration
  • Ventilator titration
  • Mask fittings and desensitization programs
