Brianne Bakken, PharmD will join MCW in August 2017 as Assistant Director of Experiential Education and Assistant Professor. Dr. Bakken received her PharmD from The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2015. She then completed a PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC). During her residency, Dr. Bakken received her Masters of Health Administration (MHA) degree from the University of Iowa College of Public Health, and served as IPPE 2 Coordinator, Preceptor and Adjunct Faculty at The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. Her research at UIHC focused on hospital pharmacy operations, medication safety, process improvement, waste reduction and technology systems, including active and passive RFID and IV workflow automation. Dr. Bakken’s professional interests include pharmacy practice model innovation, telehealth, technology and automation, LEAN process improvement, leadership development, health policy and advocacy, and interprofessional education.
