Carolyn Raasch, APNP

Nurse Practitioner

"I encourage autonomy in every patient I see, regardless of their obstacles. I try to meet patients where they are, and encourage them to push a little harder to move into a healthy lifestyle. It has to come from the patient, once they leave our office, they are in total control. I want to be a care partner, with the inspiration coming from the patient."

Biography

Carolyn created the initial Parish Nurse Program for St. Joseph's Hospital -Milwaukee, forming a stronger bond with the Orthodox Jewish Community in the surrounding neighborhood by initiating services that incorporated their faith traditions. She worked within the day school as well, providing health education which embraced Judaism. "I helped create and support the Pediatric IBD program at CHW and worked with the physician doing initial Statewide studies of prevalence of IBD in children. I was involved in the early stages of the Stroke Team/stroke studies at MCW. My last role as a staff RN was in Infectious Diseases working predominately with HIV patients/pregnant positive women."
