Dr. Shrestha completed his medical school from Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara, Nepal in September 2004 which earned him an MBBS degree. There after he worked in Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center and other hospitals in Kathmandu, Nepal. He completed his internal medicine residency (MD) from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science from 2008 to 2011. His training mostly occurred at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, IL and James A Lovell Federal Health Center in North Chicago, IL. He was the resident representative. He received "the professionalism award" for highest degree of welfare for patients during his residency. After his residency, he joined MCW as an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Internal Medicine in July 2011.
