The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is a dedicated community of compassionate, expert, inspired, professional clinicians, academicians, staff, and trainees committed to improving the lives of persons affected by psychiatric diseases, concurrent disorders, behavior-related illnesses, and social-environmental conditions impeding mental health.

The meaning of Independence Day according to Dr. Michael McBride, U.S. Navy commander

July 7 - Michael F. McBride, MD ’92, FEL ’97, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine at MCW, psychiatrist at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee and commander in the United States Navy, understands what it means to sacrifice for the protection of freedom.

Dr. Jeff Kelly honored by Shepherd Express for his contributions to LGBT progress

June 23 - Jeffrey A. Kelly, PhD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine and director of the Center for AIDS Intervention Research (CAIR), was recently honored by the Shepherd Express in its annual list of seven individuals who have made a contribution to LGBT progress in Milwaukee. Dr. Kelly was selected to receive the LGBT Progress Award for Health and HIV Awareness.

Kublys' passion and commitment offers hope for those navigating depression

A gift from medical school alumnus Michael Kubly, MD '63, and his wife, Billie, established the Charles E. Kubly Child Psychiatry Access Project - a partnership with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin that will expand access to mental healthcare for children.
