Physics Residency Application Process

 Medical College of Wisconsin Medical Physics Residency Program will be participating in the 2016 Medical Physics Matching Program and the AAPM MP-RAP program. Candidates interested in applying to the Medical College of Wisconsin Medical Physics Residency Program can send application information via the AAPM CAP Program or directly to us via electronic or regular mail. Documents needed for a complete application are:

  • Letter of introduction including a self-statement
  • Official graduate and undergraduate transcripts
  • Copies of any certificates of programs completed
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Three letters of reference

Applicants must be registered in the Medical Physics Match Program to be eligible for program acceptance. Applications will be accepted for one available opening beginning October 1, 2015 through January 1, 2016. Qualified candidates will be contacted for either a phone or onsite interview. Costs related to an onsite interview will be the responsibility of the candidate. Results of the Medical Physics Match will be announced in March 2016.

The application and interview process is performed in accordance with the equal opportunity standards set by The Medical College of Wisconsin. Physics residents are considered to be employees of the Medical College of Wisconsin and receive benefits including paid vacations, paid holidays, sick pay, and health, life, and disability insurance. Residents are able to attend at least one national meeting with appropriate expenses covered. Required books and other related learning materials are supplied to the resident for the duration of the program. Books are to be returned to the Physics Section Coordinator upon completion of the program.
