Welcome to the MCW Cancer Center Redox and Bioenergetics Shared Resource

The Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center Redox and Bioenergetics Shared Resource (RBSR) plays a campuswide, critical role in providing state-of-the-art equipment and services to support studies on bioenergetics, metabolism and redox signaling in cancer cells and normal cells.

MCW Cancer Center

This shared resource offers robust expertise and assists investigators in performing a wide range of experiments in a cost-efficient manner. The staff is known worldwide for the development of new probes and novel approaches for rigorous detection of ROS in biological systems.

The RBSR laboratories are centrally located to Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, Blood Research Institute and MCW cancer researchers on the second floor of the MACC Fund Research Center (MFRC, Room 2013, in the Department of Biophysics) and in the basement level of the Translational and Biomedical Research Center (TBRC).

Facilities and Resources

Seahorse XF-96 Analyzer

The Seahorse XF-96 measures the rate of change of analytes dissolved oxygen and pH in media immediately surrounding living cells cultured in a microplate.

Shimadzu UHPLC MS/MS Detector

The Shimadzu UHPLC-MS/MS can be used for high-speed targeted metabolomics for bioenergetics, pharmacokinetics of experimental anticancer drugs and structural conformation of newly synthesized compounds/drugs.
