    Anesthesiologist Jonathan Shoopman joins Medical College of Wisconsin faculty, Froedtert Hospital and Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center staff

    Jonathan Shoopman, MD, has been appointed assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He provides care at Froedtert Hospital and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.

    Board certified in anesthesiology and board-eligible for critical care medicine, Dr. Shoopman’s clinical interests include bedside ultrasonography for the evaluation and management of critically ill patients, simulation-based teaching for residents and medical students and the creation of protocol-driven policies to improve patient safety and outcomes.

    Prior to joining the MCW faculty, Dr. Shoopman completed a critical care fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

    After earning his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis in 2005, Dr. Shoopman continued at Indiana University School of Medicine to complete a residency in anesthesia. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and biology at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va., in 2000. Dr. Shoopman also received a Master of Science degree in biology from Purdue University in Indianapolis in 2001.
