Scott Welak, MD, has been appointed assistant professor of pediatrics (neonatology) at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He will see patients at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Welak’s research interests include necrotizing enterocolitis, a condition most often seen in premature infants in which an inflammation of the colon or small intestine results in tissue death.
Dr. Welak completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at MCW prior to joining the faculty there.
After earning his MD from MCW in 2006, Dr. Welak completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, Conn., in 2009. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Marian College in Fond du Lac in 2002.
