    Neurologist Marc Lazzaro joins Medical College of Wisconsin faculty, Froedtert & MCW Neurosciences Center staff

    Marc A. Lazzaro, MD, MS, has been appointed assistant professor of neurology and neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He sees patients at the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Neurosciences Center in Froedtert Hospital.

    Board certified in neurology and vascular neurology, and fellowship-trained in neurointerventional procedures, Dr. Lazzaro specializes in minimally invasive therapies for blood vessel disorders of the brain and spine including stroke, aneurysm, carotid artery disease, and arteriovenous malformations.

    Dr. Lazzaro has published 31 manuscripts in the areas of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, endovascular surgical neuroradiology procedures, and practice recommendations for stroke care. He will be working closely with basic science faculty at MCW in Dr. David Harder’s lab to build an understanding of the scientific underpinnings of cerebro-vascular pathophysiology and current treatment.

    Prior to joining the MCW faculty, Dr. Lazzaro completed an endovascular surgical neuroradiology fellowship there. He also completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago in 2010.

    After earning his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis in 2005, Dr. Lazzaro completed a residency in neurology at Rush University Medical Center. He earned his Master of Science degree in physiology from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2002 and his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Loyola University of Chicago in 2000.
