The Medical College of Wisconsin is a major national research center, in fact, the largest research institution in the Milwaukee metro area and 2nd largest in Wisconsin.
The Medical College’s research enterprise is focused on strategic, prioritized areas of research involving interdisciplinary collaboration among scientists and physicians with the goal of rapidly translating discoveries into advances for patient care. This past year Medical College faculty conducted more than 2,200 research studies, including clinical trials. The Clinical and Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin represents a consortium of eight Milwaukee institutions dedicated to transforming the biomedical research enterprise in southeast Wisconsin to advance patient care and education.
The Medical College collaborates with the Blood Research Institute and with many hospitals in the greater Milwaukee area including Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.
