Partnerships in Medical Education

Through many partnerships, the Medical College provides clinical education for medical students and residency training for physicians.

Teaching sites for medical students include:

• The College’s major partners: Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the Zablocki VA Medical Center
• Other hospitals: Wheaton Franciscan St. Joseph, Columbia St Mary’s, Froedtert Health Community Memorial in Menomonee Falls; Waukesha Memorial, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Aurora West Allis Medical Center, Rogers Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division, and others
• Clinics: Froedtert & The Medical College clinics in Wauwatosa, Brookfield, and West Allis; Isaac Coggs Heritage Health Center; Downtown Health Center; Progressive Community Health Centers; Sixteenth Street Community Health Center, and more than 50 other sites
• Pathways program service learning partners: United Community Center, Milwaukee and West Allis Health Departments, Lindsay Heights Neighborhood Health Alliance, Pan African Community Association, Clinica Latina, Guest House and Family Support Center
• Volunteer medical education sites: Saturday Clinic for the Uninsured at Columbia St Mary’s, Philippine Center Free Medical Clinic, Bread of Healing Clinic and Greater Milwaukee Free Clinic

In addition to College faculty, nearly 1,500 community physicians partner as volunteer clinical faculty.

Sites for physician residency training include:

• Froedtert, Children’s, Zablocki VA and more than a dozen other sites in metro Milwaukee, Waukesha, West Bend, Ozaukee and Madison
• More than 40 clinics throughout the city and state including locations in Marshfield, West Bend, Germantown, Milwaukee and Waukesha counties, and others
• Locations around the U.S. and world including:California, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, Illinois, North Carolina, and Ghana, Pakistan, Uganda, Belize, Philippines, Italy, Honduras, and Dominican Republic

In addition, the College’s Office of Continuing and Professional Education collaborates with national and international medical specialty societies, as well as local community hospitals, to accredit CME activities for physicians and other health professionals.
