Elizabeth “Lieske” Giese is currently the Regional Office Director, Western Regional Office, for the Wisconsin Division of Public Health. For more than 20 years, Lieske has worked to improve public health through education and training, research, assessment and service. She has worked on behalf of health with the private sector, local public health, education, and currently state public health. Lieske also has a proven track record of leadership as evidenced through positions such as chairing the workgroup examining public health system infrastructure goals for Healthiest Wisconsin 2020 State Health Improvement Plan and serving as Principle Investigator for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded “Multi-state Learning Collaborative” on public health performance management on accreditation.
