Dr. Hogan's laboratory investigates the cellular mechanisms that cause altered function of peripheral sensory neurons after injury, focusing upon the membrane ion channels and calcium signaling. The goal of his lab is to develop treatments that target the peripheral neuron, and especially the dorsal root ganglion, using anatomically and pharmacologically specific agents for the treatment of segmental neuropathic pain.
